Ice salesmen accused of stealing Habitat for Humanity water tanks

Two salesmen were both placed on $35,000 bail yesterday after they denied stealing two water tanks from Habitat for Humanity-Guyana at Mocha Arcadia.

At the Providence Magistrate’s Court, it was alleged that on December 26, 2012, Troy Pip, 19, of Lot 6 ‘B’ Carol’s Place, Mocha and Mark Jaundoo, 40, of Lot 42 Barnwell Dam, Mocha, stole two water tanks, valued $56,000 each and property of Habitat for Humanity-Guyana.

Pip and Jaundoo, who sold ice to the community, pleaded not guilty to the charge. No further details of what transpired were provided to the court. The prosecution had no objections to bail and Magistrate Leslie Sobers set bail at $35,000. They will make their next court appearance on May 9 for statements.
