Accused in theft of rearview mirrors remanded

Raymond Mohammed Jabar, accused of stealing two rearview mirrors, was yesterday remanded to prison by Magistrate Leron Daly.
At the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, it was alleged that on February 25, at Camp Street, Jabar stole two rearview mirrors, valued at $25,000 each. They were the property of Stacy Lowe.

Jabar pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him and Police Prosecutor Venetta Pindar subsequently objected to bail, telling the magistrate that the accused had committed offences of a similar nature in the past.

The magistrate subsequently denied bail and Jabar was remanded to prison until March 12, when the case is to be called again.
