The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 1740h yesterday at Windsor Forest, WCD, and which resulted in the death of 3-year-old Salima Shakeel, of Windsor Forest.
Investigations revealed that Shakeel and her mother Yashwantie Kallap, 29 years, were standing along the roadway when the driver of a motor cycle lost control of the vehicle and crashed into them. They suffered injuries and were taken to the WDRH where Shakeel later succumbed, while Kallap was treated and sent away.
The driver of the motor cycle fled the scene and is not yet arrested, police said. The motor cycle is in the possession of the police.
