Three persons injured in an accident at Pirara, Region 9, are being prepared to be flown to the city today from Lethem for medical treatment.
Stabroek News was told by a Lethem resident that the Land Cruiser the trio – one man and two women – was in ran off a bridge in the Pirara community and turned turtle some ten feet below.
The resident said that the driver of the vehicle seemed unfamiliar with the terrain.
All persons in the vehicle were heading into Lethem to attend the wedding of their relative.
The names of the persons are not yet known but they were rescued by residents in the community and rushed to the Lethem Hospital where they remain receiving treatment.
