Riverview man gets four years after conviction for cocaine trafficking

Moses Mootoo was sentenced to a 36-month-long jail sentence yesterday after he was found guilty of trafficking in narcotics.

Mootoo, 30 of Lot 7 Riverview, Ruimveldt, was found with two grammes of cocaine on January 24, at Hogg Street, La Penitence.

The sentence was handed down by Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. Police Sergeant Vishnu Hunt was the prosecutor in the matter.

In addition to the jail sentence, Mootoo, who was represented by attorney Paul Fung-A-Fat, was also fined $10,000.
