Expanding to attract, not accommodate business

Dear Editor,

If it were not so flagrant it would be comical. Imagine at a time when one airline after another goes belly-up or is unable to operate financially in and out of Guyana, my government, ostensibly, to attract visitors to this country, is expanding to attract business instead of expanding to accommodate increasing business by building hotels (Marriott).

This government is determined to undertake only big ticket items ‒ a new Harbour Bridge, Specialty Hospital, not to mention the Skeldon Sugar Factory and Amaila Falls.

Yours faithfully,
Randolph Joseph Eleazar
