No arrests in Coldingen armed robbery

Police have made no arrests thus far in the armed robbery of Looknauth Lumber Yard at Coldingen Industrial Estate, East Coast Demerara, on Friday afternoon by two gun-toting bandits, sources have revealed.

The men had relieved the owner of the business and the staff of their cell phones, cash and jewellery before escaping on bicycles.

One of the men had fired a warning shot in his bid to get the money from the workers. A live round reportedly fell from the chamber of the firearm as one of the men attempted to fire a shot at the owner of the business, Looknauth Prashad.

No one was harmed during the robbery. At the time of the robbery the workers were preparing to depart for the day.

Stabroek News understands that the police are in possession of surveillance footage which is said to have recorded the movements of the two men.
