A twenty-eight-year old mother of three from Albion was strangled allegedly by her husband last evening.
The woman who has been identified by the police as Geeta Bissoondyal died in her High Reef Albion home.
Stabroek News was informed that the deceased’s husband attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself. However, lawmen walked in on the attempt at the home and apprehended him. He is at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital in police custody and under observation.
The deceased was discovered by a friend and her sister.
A post-mortem examination was performed on the body this morning and revealed that the woman died of strangulation.
Police investigations are ongoing.
