Essequibo Coast power back to ‘near normalcy’ – GPL

The Guyana Power and Light Inc. yesterday said it wanted to notify  customers along the Essequibo Coast that all remedial work on the 11kV busbar at the Anna Regina Generating Station has been completed and that the power supply situation has returned to a state of near normalcy.

A GPL release said that intermittent outages are however, still being experienced as faults develop on the distribution network as a result of high winds.

“We apologize for the inconvenience caused, thank you for your forbearance over the past week and a half and appeal for your patience over the next few days as we work towards ensuring that you have a Christmas that is free of outages”, GPL said.
