Diver drowns in Barama River

A Pomeroon man drowned on Friday in the Barama River where he was working as a diver.

According to reports, Ralph Cameron, 53, of Grant Friendship, Pomeroon River, drowned around 2.30 pm on Friday.

This publication was told that when the incident occurred, there were other persons around and when they noticed that Cameron was below water for a long period, they started searching for him.

His body was recovered after a period of half of a hour and was taken to the Oscar Joseph District Hospital Mortuary at Charity. Efforts made by this publication to contact Cameron’s family proved futile.
