Scrap iron, says man charged with damaging appliances

Magistrate Judy Latchman remanded a 55-year-old man charged with causing damage to household items when he yesterday appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation against Patrick Reece, of Meadow Brook Gardens, is that on March 16 at Hadfield Street, Georgetown,  he unlawfully and maliciously damaged two washing machines valued at $110,000 each and a fridge valued at $160,000, property of Richard Bynoe.

Reece, who appeared without counsel pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Prosecutor, Sergeant Vishnu Hunt, did not relay any facts about the matter in court.

Reece told the court that the items mentioned in the charge were scrap iron.

The magistrate remanded him and ordered him to appear in court on April 15.
