PPP congress set for August 2 to 4

The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) says preparations are moving apace for the hosting of its 30th Congress in August where it plans to elect a new Central Committee.

In a press release, the party said the Congress will be held on August 2 and 4 at the JC Chandisingh Secondary School in Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice.

Party groups, districts and regional committees have been meeting regularly to finalise preparations. In addition, a local Congress Committee in Region Six has been working within the party structure to make this congress successful.

The PPP says it expects this 30th Congress to be the largest of all; the highlight of which will be the report of the Central Committee by party General Secretary, President Donald Ramotar.
