Wanted man jailed for ganja possession

A 26-year-old man appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charge of possession of narcotics.
Royston Rowe of 25 Diamond Housing Scheme pleaded guilty to the charge which alleges that on May 14 at Croal Street, Georgetown he had in his possession 10 grammes of cannabis.
According to Police Prosecutor Alexis David-Hossanah at about 20:30 hrs the accused who is wanted by the police for simple larceny, was seen on Croal Street. The police arrested him and while conducting a search of his person, found the illegal substance.
Magistrate Lovell sentenced him to 3 years imprisonment and a fine of $10,000.
