Man charged with damaging Works Ministry wheels

A man was yesterday charged with damaging two wheels belonging to the Ministry of Public Works.

It was alleged at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court that Allen Doobay, 29, of E½ Hadfield Street, Wortmanville, unlawfully and maliciously damaged the two wheels, which were valued $113,680, belonging to the ministry.

Doobay was not required to plead to the charge when it was read to him by Magistrate Faith McGusty.

Prosecutor Seon Blackman did not object to bail, which was set at $50,000 following an application by attorney Gordon Gilhuys for reasonable bail to be granted.

The case will be called again on September 5.
