Berbician wins Pepsi promo trip to NY for Mrs Carter concert

Bryan Persaud of Berbice has won the opportunity to see Beyonce live in concert in New York in her final performance of the Mrs Carter world tour.

Persaud was the top winner in the Pepsi ‘Dream Prize Promotion’ for which the drawing was held on Saturday last. The promotion, held by DDL in association with Pepsi, will see Persaud and a guest winging out to NY for an all-expenses-paid trip inclusive of tickets to the Pepsi brand ambassador’s concert in December.

The draw was open to anyone who purchased a Pepsi and found a code under the bottle cap. The code then had to be texted to 677-5000 to earn that person a chance to enter the weekly promotion and the final draw.

The top 15 finalists selected were: Shelley Allicock of Georgetown; Carol Smith-Joseph of West Coast Berbice; Bhagwandin Singh of Diamond, East Bank Demerara; Anaiah Beepat of Soesdyke; Sookranie Lalman of Somerset, Essequibo; Ramesh Sukhdeo of Tain, Berbice; Melessa April of Skeldon, Berbice; Michelle Sudial of Edinburgh, Berbice; Bryan Persaud and Tresha Persau
d of Hamphsire, Berbice; Kavita Katwaroo of Enterprise, East Coast Demerara; Farnaz Alli of Crane Housing Scheme; Nafeza Khan of Tain, Bebrice and Ryan Toney of Diamond. Dhanraj Heeralall of Number 58 Village, Berbice was a finalist but was replaced by Tajshree Hitbaran of Tain, Berbice since he notified promoters of his inability to present himself at the final draw.

The finalists first selected a number from a closed raffle bag held by a Pepsi representative. The numbers they selected (between 1 and 15) was the order in which they selected random balloons, which they then popped to reveal their prizes.

Twelve contestants received consolation prizes which signalled the end of the road for them. The three contestants who did not receive any prizes were selected as the final three to draw for the Beyoncé concert.

The promotion was launched on Thursday, August 15 and over the weeks some 300 consumers won loot bags, Samsung and Sony electronic products and Pepsi. DDL Brand Executive Larry Wills said his company is committed to giving back to customers who supported it over the years. In 2011 DDL had given away an Audi luxury car, then in 2012 a BMW Mini Cooper and now in 2013 a grand VIP experience.
