Battery dealer gets bail after denying wounding

A battery dealer was yesterday placed on $50,000 bail after he denied unlawfully wounding another man.

It was alleged at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court that on October 11, at Georgetown, Lennox Cort, 29, of lot 1010 Norton Street, Wortmanville, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Leroy Mitchell.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Attorney Paul Fung-a-Fat made an application for reasonable bail to be granted and stated that his client was not a flight risk.

After prosecutor Seon Blackman did not object to bail being granted, Magistrate Faith McGusty fixed the amount at $50,000 and adjourned the case to October 21.
