Vendor fined for unlicensed liquor sales

A vendor was yesterday fined for the unlicensed sale of liquor at the Linden Bus Park.

Stephanie Mascoll was fined $30,000 with an alternative of serving two weeks in jail for the offence, which she admitted to when she appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

According to Police Prosecutor Bharat Mangru, on November 7, at Hadfield and Lombard streets, police found 24 Heineken beers, 14 Stag beers, seven Mackeson Stout beers, seven Guinness stouts and two Banks beers in Mascoll’s possession.

Mascoll, who has been plying her trade at the Linden Bus Park for the past eight years, pleaded guilty and told the magistrate that selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages is her livelihood.
