Leader of the Opposition, Brigadier David Granger met military veterans last weekend to discuss matters affecting former members of the Guyana Defence Force, a release from APNU said. Veterans voiced concern about the challenges which some of the former soldiers in Guyana faced. They were concerned particularly with those who needed special attention and medication, the release said. The plan, which had been presented to the government, included the establishment of a National Veterans Commission and a Veterans Administration Department in the Guyana Defence Force, the release said.
