Soca Warriors to resume training as Gold Cup looms

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago, CMC- Losing Caribbean Cup finalist Trinidad & Tobago will resume training later this month ahead of two friendly internationals in Europe next month.

The Soca Warriors, who lost to new Caribbean champions Cuba in  the finals last December, will begin preparations on May 23rd, to face Romania and Estonia on June 4 and 7, respectively. Both games are being used to help the Soca Warriors prepare for their first appearance in the CONCACAF Gold Cup since 2007.

“These two games are massive for us at this point as we prepare for the Gold Cup,” said T&T head coach Hutson Charles.

“This will give us a very good idea in terms of what we are looking for as a final squad for the Gold Cup.”

Earning a recall is St Ann’s Rangers goalkeeper Jan Michael Williams, who skippered the team to a second-place finish at the 2012 Caribbean Cup.

Vietnam-based midfielder Hughtun Hector and Thailand-based defender Seon Power are also on the initial 20-man roster.
