The Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA) is all set to host what is expected to be the biggest cricket event of the year in the Upper Corentyne area on November 30 at the No. 69 Vikings ground, No. 69 Village, Corentyne. According to a press release the day’s activity will see four Berbice zone senior teams participating. The first game Upper Corentyne versus New Amsterdam/Canje will start at 10am while from 2pm West Berbice will face what is expected to be a star studded line up in Lower Corentyne.
The UCCA is calling on business community to support this event as cricket development is much needed in the Upper Corentyne area. The UCCA said it wished to thank the following businesses/persons for coming on board with sponsorship: 4R (Mr. Deonarine), La Grill Hotel Restaurant & Bar, Sarfraz Photo Studio & Video Recording Centre, Vishnu’s Super Store, Ram’s Stationery Store, A.H & L Kissoon’s, Hand in Hand, Republic Bank (Guyana) Ltd, Sukhpaul’s Business Enterprise, Countryside TV-19, Deckers and Geddes Grant for coming on board with gate prizes.
The final will be played under lights at 18:30 hrs. All proceeds from this event will go towards cricket development in the Upper Corentyne area.
