Plaisance family beaten, robbed in pre-dawn bandit attack

During the wee hours of yesterday morning an armed bandit attacked a Plaisance, East Coast Demerara family and stole jewellery, cell phones and other items.

Though tight-lipped when Stabroek News visited the home, a family member said that the attack occurred around 3:30AM. Toshia McDonald said that she was asleep when an armed gunman entered the house through a window.

Three persons normally reside at the house but at the time of the attack, the family had relatives staying over. McDonald added that a relative was tied up by the gunman while others were brutally assaulted. They were later taken to a city hospital for treatment.

The suspect in this crime is currently on the run, sources say.
