GOA Sports Admin course commences today

The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) annual Sports Admin-istrators’ Course will get underway today at Olympic House, 76 High Street, Kingston, Georgetown.

According to a press release from the GOA, the course, which ends Sunday, “is designed to improve the knowledge and competence of sports managers and leaders, and also cater for sports administrators from the outlying areas.”

Participants drawn from national sports associations/federations, the Guyana Teachers’ Union, the Guyana Police Force, The Guyana Defence Force, the Prison and Fire Services and the National Sports Commission are expected to attend.

Honorary Life Member of the GOA, Ivor O’Brien will speak on the Olympic Movement, Olympic Solidarity and its programmes while Donald Sinclair, Managing Director, Flex Night Incorporated will speak on Values and Ethics in Sport. There will also be a panel discussion on Performance Enhancing Drugs and its Prevalence.
