Tenders submitted for Cyril Potter meals

Tenders were yesterday received for the supply and delivery of cooked meals for the resident students at the Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE).

The bids were opened yesterday at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), Ministry of Finance, Main Street.

Meals have been of concern for students as they had in last December mounted a protest highlighting the sparse servings and unpalatable meals.

They had charged that since the Beacon Foundation no longer provided their daily meals they were subjected to morning breakfasts of one slice of bread per person with a half a serving of channa (chick peas) and with the menu sometimes not changing for the entire week.

Yesterday’s bids were divided into three lots and saw bids from two companies. However, at least three other entities were present at the tender opening.

A representative of Upscale Restaurant told Stabroek News that the eatery was present to assess the amounts and to do their own internal examination for future bidding.

The two companies and their tenders are listed below.
