Shot man identified in armed robberies

A man who was shot by police  on the East Coast Demerara is to appear in court after he was identified in three armed robberies including one which occurred at the home of a former assistant commissioner in February, according to crime chief Seelall Persaud.

Persaud told Stabroek News yesterday that the man who has since been discharged from hospital is currently in police custody.

It was explained that he was found in possession of a firearm and was later identified in the robberies. He is also expected to face charges in relation to the gun.
