Prisoner had ganja, cigarettes in Camp St jail -court hears

A Camp Street Prison inmate now faces the possibility of serving an extended sentence after being accused of being in possession of marijuana and supplying cigarettes in the jail.

Ronald Armstrong was yesterday read charges that he had in his possession 181 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking and that on May 7 he conveyed 37 packs of cigarettes within the precincts of the prison.

Magistrate Judy Latchman, who presided over the Armstrong’s arraignment at Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, set the next hearing for June 27.
