BaiShanLin to work with Linden association on road rehabilitation

A massive road rehabilitation programme is set to get underway soon as officials from BaiShanLin International Forest Development Inc met with representatives from the Linden/Kwakwani Road Users Association (LKRUA) to discuss their possible collaboration on the project.

This is according a press release issued by BaiShanLin which stated that the two stakeholders met on Thursday last at the company’s headquarters at Providence, East Bank Demerara to further discuss the matter.

According to the release, BaiShanLin’s General Manager Yu Mingxin said that the company stands ready to assist the LKRUA in its efforts to improve the state of the road. The release said further that the LKRUA delegation was led by Chairman Phillip Bynoe who met the BaiShanLin team following a meeting the group had at the Umana Yana to discuss the rehabilitation plans.

The release added that Mingxin was briefed by LKRUA Secretary Patricia Boyle on some of the requirements of the roadwork, specifically as it relates to equipment. It continued, “BaiShanLin is currently in the process of examining Boyle’s request and is expected to assist with the rehabilitation efforts, as the company is doing now in Kwakwani.”

Additionally, the release said that the discussion also focused on the possibility of a new arrangement between BaiShanLin and the group regarding the purchase of logs and closed with the following statement: “BaiShanLin remains committed to the road rehabilitation efforts and will continue to support such initiatives throughout communities in which it operates.”
