Bourda stabbing victim recovering

Joseph Adams, the Lodge man who was stabbed on Wednesday night at Bourda, is recovering and in a stable condition following surgery.

Adams, 53, was stabbed to the abdomen as he attempted to break up a fight between two persons around 9pm on Wednesday.

When visited yesterday, the man was unable to speak but this newspaper learnt that the doctors had managed to successfully remove the long knife from his stomach.

He was admitted into the male surgical ward early yesterday after hours of surgery.

Adams also received stitches to his face to deal with a laceration earned during the stabbing.

Following the stabbing, Adams was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he was immediately attended to by medical staff.

Complications had arisen when doctors had a hard time removing the long blade from the middle of his stomach.
