Mahaicony Post Office closing from Monday

The Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) is advising that the Mahaicony Post Office will be closed from Monday October 13 for the next three months to facilitate construction of a new building.

Residents of Mahaicony and its environs are advised that services can be accessed at the Weldaad, Mahaica or at any other post office, the GPOC said in a press release.

For ease of comfort, old age and NIS pensions and public assistance payments will be made at the Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC) on the first two working days of the month. November payments will be made on the 3rd and 4th at the NDC as the office will be closed on Saturday.

Mahaicony Post Office customers are further advised that the following pensions and allotments will only be paid at the Weldaad Post Office: Guyana Transport and Harbours, Dependents Pension Fund, Ministry of Finance, Guyana Police Force and the Guyana Defence Force.

After the renovations, the public will be notified when the Mahaicony Post Office will reopen.
