Media workers benefiting from 5-day training programme

Journalists from around the country are benefiting from a 5-day training programme, which began yesterday and will cover such topics as ethics, political reporting, advocacy, online reporting, access to information vs privacy among others.

The training workshop is being held by the University of Guyana’s Centre for Communication Studies in collaboration with the British High Commission, the Institute of Journalism, the Ohio University and Parliament.

Director of the International Institute of Journalism, Ohio University Dr Yusuf Kalyango and award winning journalist and former Washington Post Ombudsman Andrew Alexander are facilitating the workshop under the theme, ‘Democracy, Journalism and Responsibility 2: Equipping Media for Enhanced Citizen Engagement’.
