while promoting the new destination brand, the Government Informa-tion Agency (GINA) said in a report yesterday. Guyana Homecoming 2015, which aims to bring back 100,000 Guyanese to Guyana, will also be high on the day’s agenda, it added.

The fair’s participation comes right after Guyana’s tourism potential was promoted at the Guyana High Commission in London on Friday evening.

Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) Indranauth Haralsingh made the presentations, which included information on the new destination branding along with the multiple opportunities that exist to enable new tourism enterprises and expansion of existing ones.

Attendees of the event included Guyanese businesspersons, members of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) and the Commonwealth and tourism workers such as tour operators, travel agents and travel writers. These persons were also presented with copies of the GuyExpo Magazine along with the Guyanese Magazine produced by the Guyana Information Agency (GINA). The Commonwealth Fair is an annual event that is organised by the Commonwealth Countries Leagues and is expected to see the participation of a large number of Guyanese as well as thousands more from the Commonwealth and visitors from around the world.
