British High Commissioner’s wife visits Project Trust volunteers in Leguan

Bettina Ayre, wife of British High Commissioner Andrew Ayre, recently paid a visit to the Project Trust volunteers at the Secondary School in Leguan, Region Three.

According to a press release from Project Trust, she was accompanied by Project Trust Country Representative Kala Seegopaul and the aim of her visit was to encourage the volunteers as well as to familiarize her with the project site.

Last month she visited the volunteers at Holy Name School in Goshen and Three Mile Secondary School in Bartica, while last year she visited the volunteers in Orealla, Region Six.

The release stated that the High Commissioner’s wife is a strong supporter of the Project Trust Volunteers in Guyana.

Project Trust is an educational charity which specializes in sending school leavers overseas to volunteer placements in Africa, Asia and the Americas. There are 26 volunteers currently in Guyana, teaching in regions one, two, three, six, seven, eight and nine.

The release noted that Project Trust is grateful to the Ministry of Education for its continued support and assistance.
