Food for the Poor starts Christmas food drive

Food for the Poor (Guyana) has embarked on its Christmas food drive in keeping with its aim to provide food hampers to 250 needy families over the holidays.

The charity is inviting the public to help meet this objective by donating non-perishable food items, placing them in food bins that have been placed at several locations in the city: Ashmin’s, Bonny’s and Budget supermarkets located at High, Church and Sheriff streets respectively. Food bins have also been placed at the charity’s complex at 1999-2002 Blue Mountain Road, Festival City, North Ruimveldt. FFTP is also seeking monetary or other donations from corporate organisations and individuals to complete the hampers.

FFTP extends gratitude to Beepat’s, Muneshwer’s, Edward B Beharry and Company Limited, Continental Industries Limited, National Milling Company Incorporated and Federal Management Systems for their generous donations towards this initiative.
