Orlando Scott, businessman and theology student – ‘I would like to see people start making an honest living by working hard, and also for my business to grow. Most importantly, my main concern is to spread the good news about God.’

Lacrisha Jeffrey, vendor – ‘I hope for a better year than 2014 and for all of my dreams [which she didn’t want to share] to come through in 2015.’

Raul Chin, flower shop owner – ‘I would be working hard to improve on my family’s life in 2015. I also hope to accomplish all failed projects of this year and to further enhance my business. Basically I want to get everything done that I couldn’t do in 2014.’

Shaunette Benn, self-employed – ‘I am hoping to change my current business for something better. My small business had suffered a loss so all I am looking out for in 2015 is development. Progress that’s what I’m looking for. But besides all that, I want to be happy for the New Year.’

Paul Jerry, miner – ‘The New Year is just another year and the goal remains the same: to make money to provide for my five children. That’s all that matters to me right now.’

Davika Persaud, vendor  ‘I suffered great loss this year. My sister died in July. My father died earlier this month and my husband recently became chronically ill. I just want to see something good happen. I don’t want this to happen back. I want to be happy.’

Ronald Persaud, electrician – ‘I want to start up an electrical firm in the future but for 2015 I want to see a change of government, because this economy ain’t running properly and the poor people suffering.’
