Beach volleyball workshop gets underway today

The Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) in collaboration with the South American Volleyball Federation (CSV) will stage a beach volleyball workshop today at the Carifesta Sports Complex, Georgetown from 15:00hrs.

The workshop will continue tomorrow from 09:00 hours and  with a one hour nreak at noon before recommencing at 13:00hrs and end at 16:30hrs. The programme will end on Sunday.

According to a press release, the workshop promises to be a very informative and exciting with participants benefiting tremendously from the sessions. Participants will be exposed to theory and practical sessions designed to certify and register local coaches in order that they can participate in international matches.

The Chief instructor Mr. Fernando Costa and his assistant Mr. Rodrigues Roberto both from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil said that they anticipate a very good workshop. Brazil is known the world over for producing some of the best volleyball players both male and female who would have represented Brazil at the highest level successfully such as at the Summer Olympics and the World Beach Volleyball Championships.

The Guyana Volleyball Federation said that it is very elated and privileged to be proud hosts to their Brazilian counterparts from the CSV.

The venue is ready and the GVF said it was  putting all other measures in place to ensure a very successful and fun workshop.
