Fruta Conquerors brushed aside Flamingo FC by a 4-1 score line when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Stag Beer first division league continued on Friday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.
Captain Eon Alleyne opened the scoring for the Tucville side in the third minute with sublime left footed strike into the back of the net, from just outside the right side of the penalty area.
Shem Porter would level the scores in the 55th minute, netting through a powerfully struck left footed strike into the right hand corner of the goal, following an indirect freekick outside the centre of the area.
Conquerors would retake the lead six minutes later as veteran Delon Williams etched his name on the scorer’s sheet with right footed attempt from inside the right side of the box, which went under the body of the diving keeper after collecting a Jahaal Greaves left sided pass.
It would become 3-1 in the 68th minute as Travis Thornhill found the back of the net, placing his effort into the lower left hand corner of the woodwork from inside the right side of the area, after outsprinting his marker to latch onto a through pass.
The result would be completed six minutes later as Thornhill sealed his brace with clinically placed left footed strike into the bottom left corner from within the right side of the penalty area. In the feature matchup, Sunburst Camptown arrested the Guyana Police Force (GPF) 3-0.
