Ann’s Grove defeated home side Buxton Stars by a 3-1 score line when the Stag Beer/East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) division-one league continued on Saturday at the Buxton Community Ground.
Nikose Denny netted the opener for the winners through a 32nd minute strike. They doubled their lead in the 65th minute when Maxton Adams etched his name on the scorer’s sheet. Alistair Deen reduced the deficit to one for the home side when he netted through a 70th minute penalty kick conversion. However, Ann’s Grove sealed the three points in the 90th minute when Kevon Barry found the back of the net.
In the opening game, Beterverwagting (BV)/Triumph United and Mahaica Determinators played to a 1-1 draw. DeShawn Garnett opened the scoring for BV while Quincy Holder equalized for Mahaica.
