Jamaican busted at airport

A Jamaican national was busted on Monday night at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri with just under one kilogramme of cocaine as he was preparing to leave Guyana on a flight destined for Canada.

Crime Chief Leslie James in confirming the discovery told Stabroek News yesterday that the drugs were found concealed in items of clothing and cream containers.

He said that the Jamaican was scheduled to leave Guyana on a Fly Jamaica flight destined for Canada with a stop in Jamaica.

He said that around 10 pm as he was preparing to leave police narcotics ranks made the discovery.

James said that charges are likely to be laid shortly and indicated that police are still investigating.
