Moraikobai gets new generator

Over 1,400 residents of Moraikobai Village, Mahaicony River, are benefitting from electricity supply as the community has received a 344 KVA Perkins generator.
GINA said yesterday that the generator was supplied and installed at a total cost of over $15M.

GINA said that earlier in 2014 the request was made by residents of the community to the Regional Democratic Council, which channelled it through the Ministry of Local Government which then sought the intervention of President Donald Ramotar.

On Christmas Day 309 homes were electrified, as well as the hospital and the schools in the area, GINA said.
