Caricom extends condolences to St Vincent over accident deaths

Caricom Secretary General Irwin LaRocque has extended condolences to the government and people of St Vincent and the Grenadines at the loss of lives following a vehicular accident.

The tragedy occurred on Monday when a vehicle containing mostly school children overturned and plunged into the sea. The accident occurred along the country’s north-eastern coast and according to the official report, five persons are dead, two missing and fourteen hospitalised.

LaRocque in his message to St Vincent Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves said, the community is deeply saddened by the tragic vehicular accident, which is heightened by the fact that many among the deceased were school children and extends deepest sympathies to the government and people especially to the bereaved families.
