Den Amstel, Uitvlugt crash out of Guinness Greatest of the Streets competition

Den Amstel and Uitvlugt crashed out of the Guinness Greatest of the Streets West Demerara edition, suffering quarterfinal losses to Raiders and Patentia Street Ballers respectively on Saturday at the Vergenoegen Rice Mill Tarmac.

Raiders led defeated the highly touted Den Amstel by a 1-0 score line in the feature showdown while Uitvlugt on the other hand were booted 2-1 on sudden death kicks after normal time ended 1-1.

Similarly making an unexpected exit was DeKenderen United who went down to West Side Ballers by a 1-0 score line.

Surviving that fate was seasoned side Pouderoyen Showstoppers who dismissed Brothers United by a 2-0 margin. In the earlier exhibition fixtures, Banks DIH Limited defeated the Promoters 3-0 while Vergenoegen defeated the Media via walkover.

The semi-final round is billed for tomorrow at the Pouderoyen Tarmac. In the first semi-final at 10:00hrs, Raiders will lock horns with West Side Ballers while Showstoppers will oppose Patentia Street Ballers from 10:30hrs in the second match of the section.

Prior to the semi-final fixtures, four exhibition matches will occur. Winners of the event will receive $300,000 and the championship trophy while the second place side will collect $150,000 and the runners-up accolade.

The third and fourth place finishers will collect $100,000 and $75,000 respectively.
