Kenroy Antony Joseph yesterday turned himself into the police after a wanted bulletin was issued for him on Tuesday in connection with the recent drug bust at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri where a couple was arrested with over 20 kilograms of cocaine.

The police say that Joseph was wanted by the police for questioning in relation to matters of Trafficking in Narcotics and Forgery that are under investigation.

Last night the man’s attorney James Bond said that he came out of the interior and turned himself in after his family became worried when they saw the bulletin in the media.

It is alleged that the couple Mahendra Ramsuchit, 29, of Lot 18 Rose Hall, East Canje, Berbice, and his wife, Rohbina Basdeoram, initially evaded detection by boarding the flight by way of the VIP section on the pretext of being relatives of a government official.

The police case’s is that around 12:10 am, the couple was on a Fly Jamaica flight destined for Toronto, Canada after boarding the plane via the VIP section at the airport. They had not been subjected to a search but while they were on the plane authorities learned that they had not been listed to access the VIP section and this led to searches being done. Searches conducted on two laptop bags and two suitcases uncovered the cocaine. They both pleaded not guilty to the charges when they appeared in court on Monday.
