Guard breaks leg in fall from High St building

A security guard fell from a two-storey building on Monday night, resulting in him being admitted at the Georgetown Public Hospital with a broken leg.

Razak Mohamed Juman, 58, of Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, who is attached to RKs Security Service, was moaning in pain when Stabroek News visited him at the hospital yesterday. Juman said his leg was broken in three different places, while he has other injuries about his body.

About 12am, Juman said, he was at work making checks at the building on High street, where construction work is ongoing. However, he stepped on an incomplete stairway, resulting in him falling about ten to fifteen feet to the ground.

Juman noted that the building does not have any light and the place was dark at time of the accident.

The injured man is expecting to undergo surgery soon.
