Alleged ganja seller nabbed in police sting

A man who police have charged with possession and trafficking of narcotics was yesterday refused bail when he appeared in a city court.

Sunil Persaud pleaded not guilty to the charges which stated that he had 15 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking and he allegedly trafficked four grammes of cannabis.

Prosecutor Michael Grant said that the police were carrying out a sting operation when the defendant was nabbed with the illegal drug.

Bail was refused and his matter was adjourned to March 20 at Court 5.
