Taxi driver accused of stealing fire service hose

A taxi driver found himself in a city court on Tuesday on a charge that he stole a length of hose from the Guyana Fire Service.

It was alleged that on March 23, at Bel Air, Georgetown, Ivelaw Anderson stole the length of hose, valued at $75,000.

The prosecution had no objections to bail and as a result Anderson, a resident of Goed Fortuin, was granted bail in the sum of $50,000 by Magistrate Fabayo Azore.

He is expected to return to court on April 13 for trial.
