Prime Minister urges fair and balanced reporting by Chronicle

Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo yesterday held a meeting with staff of the Guyana Chronicle during which he urged that the newspaper be fair and balanced in its coverage.

The Guyana Chronicle, a state-owned entity, has always been pro-government in its news coverage, but according to sources the Prime Minister told staff members, including General Manager Michael Gordon and Editor-in-chief Mark Ramotar, that the newspaper should become professional in its news coverage.
