Bus driver, mason on $50,000 bail after denying smoking ganja

A bus driver and a mason were placed on $50,000 bail each yesterday after pleading not guilty to charges of smoking cannabis.

Wazeem Edun, a bus driver, and Deo Williams, a mason, were charged separately after they were allegedly caught smoking the illegal substance.

Appearing on behalf of the two men, attorney Paul Fung-A-Fat asked for the men to be released on reasonable bail.

Having received no objections to bail, Magistrate Judy Latchman set same at $50,000. The men are expected to return to court on July 27 for commencement of their trials.
