PM apologises for sirens

Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo has apologized for the sirens that are being used while his vehicle is traversing the streets of the city.

In a post on his Facebook page, Nagamootoo said that when he became Prime Minister he asked for the sirens to be used only when needed and that the PM’s vehicles should also observe traffic lights.

He said that lasted for a while until comments were made to him that security required special routines. “So, here I am in vehicles that scream aloud and occasionally, force their way through traffic. I want to say `sorry’ to all the folks who might be inconvenienced by these routines. I see when you have to stop by the roadside, pull over or pull aside to let me through, and I know that you dislike doing that. But I wish it were otherwise, and that I could go about my business without any humbug to others. However, I am advised that these routines are required for security reasons”.
