Sophia man remanded over break in

A Sophia man was yesterday remanded to prison by a city magistrate for allegedly breaking and entering an East Ruimveldt home.

Akeem Booker, of ‘C’ Field, Sophia, was charged with breaking and entering the home of Daphne Langevine with intent to commit a felony on July 16.

Prosecutor Deniro Jones told the court that Langevine secured her home and left but when she returned several hours later, she saw Booker in her home. Jones noted that Booker escaped when he saw Langevine but was later arrested.

Booker was remanded until August 13 when he will make his next court appearance.
