Professionalism

Dear Editor,

In the course of the evening of August 14, I called GT&T via 0448 to report no access to the internet. Two female telephonists dealt with my matter. I was surprised at the level of patience, courtesy and professionalism as each of these guided me for the restoration of my service.

I recall on June 17 when I checked in to travel to New York at our airport, I was paged to report to Customs.

The Customs officer who apparently was executing random checks on baggage was extremely kind in dealing with me while she did her duty. I could not but respect her.

My daughter on a trip to Toronto on August 6 experienced a ticket problem which would have severely inconvenienced her had it not been for the kind and persistent intervention of an immigration officer whose contribution helped her to board the plane through the adjusted ticket.

Editor, some make me proud to be a Guyanese.

Yours faithfully,
Krishna Nand Prasad
