Minister of Public, David Patterson has announced that within the next two and a half hours heavy rain fall is expected in the city extending to the coastal lands. Approximately two (2) inches of rainfall is expected according to the Minister.
GINA said that the Ministry is advising that individuals take the necessary precautions, especially those in low lying areas and riverain communities. It also advised that householders practice good hygiene and avoid contact with contaminated water, which can have negative impact on their health and wellbeing.
Canals, drainage outfalls and Kokers are being monitored to ensure adequate drainage in provided.
